Fedora 22 End Of Life

Di, 19/07/2016 - 16:14
As of the 19th of July 2016, Fedora 22 has reached its end of life for
updates and support. No further updates, including security updates,
will be available for Fedora 22. A previous reminder was sent on 22nd
of June [0]. Fedora 23 will continue to receive updates until
approximately one month after the release of Fedora 25. The
maintenance schedule of Fedora releases is documented on the Fedora
Project wiki [1]. The Fedora Project wiki also contains instructions
[2] on how to upgrade from a previous release of Fedora to a version
receiving updates.

Hash: SHA1

Pre-registration for the Flock conference (August 2-5 in Kraków) will
close at 1700 UTC (1:00pm US-Eastern, 7:00pm Central Europe) on
Wednesday, 2016-Jul-13.

If you *are* pre-registered, and do not intend to come to Flock,
please email <flock-staff< at >fedoraproject.org> to notify the team.

FAQ
===

Q: What does pre-registration cutoff mean?
A: We will accept attendees for Flock even on the days of the
conference without a registration. However, we need to set a cutoff
point to calculate budget for swag, meals, etc. If you are not
registered to attend Flock before Wednesday, we cannot guarantee
meals, a T-shirt, or the ability to attend evening events.

Q: Can I still attend Flock if I'm not pre-registered?
A: Absolutely. Attendance is free and open even if you're not
pre-registered. You may get, for example, a hand-printed badge, and
you may not get swag. But you are still welcome to attend.

Q: If I didn't pre-register, can I attend social events?
A: The F

Another Step in the Fedora Journey

The Fedora Project has embarked on a great journey... redefining what
an operating system should be for users and developers. Such innovation
does not come overnight, and Fedora 24 is one big step on the road to
the next generation of Linux distributions. But that does not mean that
Fedora 24 is some "interim" release; there are great new features for
Fedora users to deploy in their production environments right now!

Information about increase of spam in Fedora Infrastructure

Di, 07/06/2016 - 20:56
Greetings.

Over the last few months there has been a large increase in spam
submitted to some Fedora Infrastructure services, mostly focused on
fedorahosted trac (wiki and tickets) and the Fedora project wiki.
(They have also begun targeting bugzilla.redhat.com, please report any
spams there to
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/enter_bug.cgi?product=Bugzilla&version=4.4)

To combat this flood of spam we have created an automated spam
detection and cleanup service called Basset (https://pagure.io/basset)

Basset hooks into our infrastructure in a number of places:

* Into the Fedora Account System (FAS). Basset may decide based on a
number of factors that a new account does not appear legitimate and
mark it 'spamcheck_denied' or 'spamcheck_manual' (it's not sure). New
account holders that find themselves with this status should get an
email asking them to mail accounts< at >fedoraproject.org to reset and
  retrain Basset.

* Into trac ticket and wiki submissions. When spam tickets or wiki
  edits are noted, t
